Your customers write to you on WhatsApp.
Someone has to answer.
A WhatsApp chatbot, which many call a WhatsApp bot, answers customers on the channel they already use, at any hour, with your company's real information. Development costs €1,000 to €2,000 for a chatbot connected to catalog and FAQ. If it has to read orders or the ERP it becomes AI programming, from €5,000.
We build it on the WhatsApp Business API, Meta's official platform for businesses. The AI model understands the question and writes the answer, while prices, availability and terms come from your data. When the request turns into a negotiation or a complaint, it hands over to a person.
We do the same work on websites and online stores with the AI chatbot, and the two channels often share the same sources. All the services are on the AI for business page.
What it does
What a chatbot
for WhatsApp does
WhatsApp automation is useful when requests are many and similar. The WhatsApp chatbot closes them on its own and leaves you the ones that matter.
Catalog · FAQ
It answers about products
It finds the product by features or use, gives price and availability from your data and sends the link to the right page.
Let's talkOrders · Returns
It handles after-sales
It explains shipping, returns and warranties according to your terms. Connected to orders, it also answers about shipment status, after verifying the customer.
Let's talkContacts
It collects requests
When a quote is needed it asks for the useful details and sends you the full conversation. Requests that arrive after hours do not get lost.
Let's talkOperator
It hands over to a person
Complaints, negotiations and technical cases go to the people in your company with the full context. You decide the handoff rules.
Let's talkExamples
WhatsApp automation,
examples by sector
The same chatbot changes a lot depending on who is writing to you. These are the most common uses of a WhatsApp Business chatbot.
E-commerce · Orders
Online stores
Availability, delivery times, returns and order status after verifying the customer. With the customer's consent, shipping notifications too, sent with utility message templates.
Let's talkRestaurants · Hotels · Bookings
Bookings and information
Opening hours, menus, services, how to get there. Booking requests are collected with the details needed and passed to whoever confirms them, without waiting for the morning.
Let's talkInstallers · Technical support
Support and service calls
The customer describes the problem and sends a photo, the chatbot collects model, address and urgency and prepares the job sheet for the technician, who calls back already informed.
Let's talkPractices · Professionals
Requests and appointments
Orderly collection of requests, documents to bring, appointment proposals. Without ever giving opinions in place of the professional.
Let's talkApp or API
WhatsApp Business API
or WhatsApp Business app?
They are two different Meta products, and neither of them is Meta AI. The app is used on the phone and a person replies; the WhatsApp Business API, which Meta calls the WhatsApp Business Platform, is the one a chatbot is built on.
-
The app, for a few conversations
It works as long as a person is the one replying: business profile, catalog, quick replies, greeting and away messages. It does not let you connect an AI model to your data.
-
The platform, for automation
With Meta's Cloud API, messages arrive at our server, the chatbot processes them with your data and replies. This is where catalog, orders, CRM and the handoff to a person get connected.
-
The same number on both
Meta lets you connect the number you already use on the app to the platform and keep replying from the app in one-to-one chats, with the history of the last six months synced. Some app features are disabled, such as broadcast lists, quick replies, catalog and group chats. We assess with you whether it makes sense or whether a dedicated number is better.
-
Meta AI on WhatsApp is something else
Meta AI is Meta's assistant inside WhatsApp: it helps people get organized, summarizes unread messages, creates and edits images and can be called up in groups. It works for the person using it, not for your company: it does not know your catalog and orders and does not reply to customers from your number.
Before you start
How to activate a chatbot
on the WhatsApp Business API
The chatbot does not connect to the WhatsApp Business app on your phone but to Meta's platform for businesses. Here is what you need to activate it and what it involves.
-
A dedicated number
You need a phone number registered on the platform. It is usually best to use one dedicated to customer service.
-
A Meta Business account
The company needs a Meta Business account. We guide you through the setup and the connection with the chatbot.
-
Approved message templates
Replies to customer messages are unrestricted. Messages you send first use templates that Meta has to approve.
-
Message costs paid to Meta
Meta charges for some messages, with rates that depend on type and country. They are paid directly to Meta, separately from development, and we estimate them on your volumes before starting.
-
The information needed to answer
FAQ, terms of sale, price lists, opening hours and the real questions that came in over recent months. The quality of the answers depends on these sources more than on the model.
-
The connection to your systems
Catalog, orders, CRM or ERP, read through their APIs with read-only permissions. On WooCommerce we use the official APIs that we have known for years, with hands-on WooCommerce expertise.
-
Testing before launch
Before opening the chatbot to customers we test it with real questions and read every answer. In the first weeks we check the conversations and correct sources and rules.
Costs
How much does a WhatsApp chatbot cost,
development and messages
There are three cost items, and you will find them all in the quote, before starting.
-
Development, at a fixed price
€1,000 to €2,000 for a chatbot connected to catalog and FAQ, live in 1-2 weeks. If it has to read orders, the ERP or the CRM, or enter data into your systems as AI agents do, it moves to AI programming, from €5,000 to €15,000.
-
Messages, paid to Meta
Since 1 July 2025 Meta charges template messages one by one, with rates that depend on the category (marketing, utility, authentication) and the recipient's country. Rates can change only on 1 January, April, July and October.
-
What is not charged
Non-template replies within the 24-hour window opened by the customer's last message and utility templates sent within that window are not charged. If the customer comes from a Click to WhatsApp ad in your Facebook and Instagram Ads campaigns and you reply within 24 hours, a 72-hour window opens in which messages are at no cost.
-
AI model usage
Every generated answer uses requests to the model, paid to the provider based on usage. We estimate it on your volumes and set spending limits, so there are no surprises.
WhatsApp rules
Meta's rules
for chatbots on WhatsApp
WhatsApp is a personal channel and Meta protects it with precise rules. A chatbot that does not follow them puts the number at risk, which is why we design for them from day one.
-
Consent before messaging
You can message first only people who have given you their number and have explicitly agreed to receive WhatsApp messages from your company, with the company name clearly stated. Consent can be collected on the website, in the store, over the phone or in the chat itself.
-
Easy unsubscribe
Whoever receives the messages must know how to stop receiving them, even for just one category, and the request must be respected. Meta suggests separate consent for each type of message.
-
The 24-hour window
Every customer message opens or renews a 24-hour window in which the chatbot can reply without restrictions. Outside that window only approved message templates can be sent.
-
Templates reviewed by Meta
Every new or modified template is reviewed by Meta, which can also challenge its category. We prepare the texts, with variable fields for name, order and date.
-
A person always reachable
The rules require clear and direct paths to a person: an operator in the chat, phone, email or a form. Our chatbot hands over the conversation when it cannot answer or when the customer asks.
-
Transparency about AI
From 2 August 2026 the AI Act requires informing people who talk to an AI system. The chatbot introduces itself as such from the first message.

Frequently asked questions
about the WhatsApp chatbot
How do you activate a chatbot on WhatsApp?
You need a Meta Business account, a number registered on the WhatsApp Business Platform and a server that receives messages through the Cloud API and replies with your data. We set up the account and number, prepare the message templates for Meta to approve, connect catalog and orders and test the chatbot with real questions before opening it to customers. Development takes 1-2 weeks, while approvals depend on Meta.
What are WhatsApp bots?
They are programs that automatically reply to messages arriving at a business WhatsApp number. Rule-based ones follow menus and keywords; AI-based ones understand questions written in the customer's own words and reply with the company's information, handing the cases that matter to a person.
Is there a WhatsApp chatbot at no cost?
A chatbot connected to your data always has costs: development, model usage and the template messages paid to Meta. Non-template replies sent within 24 hours of the customer's last message, on the other hand, are not charged. The WhatsApp Business app offers automatic greeting and away messages, useful with few contacts, but it does not connect an AI to your data.
How much does a WhatsApp chatbot cost?
Development costs €1,000 to €2,000 for a chatbot connected to catalog and FAQ. If it has to read orders, the ERP or the CRM, it moves to AI programming, from €5,000 to €15,000. On top of that there are the message costs paid to Meta and the model usage costs.
Can I use the number I already have?
Yes, Meta lets you connect the number you already use on the app to the platform and keep replying from the app in one-to-one chats. Some app features are disabled, such as broadcast lists, quick replies, catalog and group chats; alternatively you use a number dedicated to customer service.
What is the difference from Meta AI on WhatsApp?
Meta AI is Meta's assistant for people who use WhatsApp: it helps them get organized, summarizes unread messages, creates and edits images. It does not reply to your customers on behalf of the company and does not know your catalog, prices and orders. The chatbot we build speaks from the business number, with your information and your rules.
How much does Meta charge for WhatsApp messages?
Since 1 July 2025 Meta charges template messages one by one, with different rates by category and by the recipient's country. Non-template replies within 24 hours of the customer's last message and utility templates sent within that window are not charged. We calculate the cost on your volumes before starting.
Can the chatbot message customers first?
Yes, but only with message templates approved by Meta and to people who have given explicit consent to receive WhatsApp messages from your company, with a simple way to unsubscribe.
