For WordPress website owners
What we do, what it costs
and how we get started.
With Webcreation's WordPress support we fix critical errors, blank pages, slow or hacked websites, problems after an update and emails that do not arrive, including on websites built by others. Work is paid for in hour packages, 5 hours for €350, 10 hours for €600, 20 hours for €1,100, and we estimate the hours before we start. During business hours we start the analysis within the hour, and for emergencies we are on call from 7 AM to 11 PM, holidays included. If the website has been compromised, read the guide hacked website, what to do right now.
The work is done personally by Federico Bianco, web developer since 1999, from Ciriè (Turin). Website and WordPress support is provided online, remotely, all over Italy, and in Turin and its province we come to your premises when needed. Besides repairs we also offer WordPress consulting, for example on which hosting to choose, which plugins to keep and which to replace before they become a problem. Tell us what is wrong and we will tell you where to start.
WordPress website not working
Website not working,
the problems we fix
These are the ten cases we see most often. For each one, the typical cause and what we do.
-
White screen
The website shows an empty page, with no errors. It is usually a hidden PHP error, a plugin conflicting with the theme or a memory limit set too low. We turn on the error log, isolate the component that is blocking things and restore the website.
-
WordPress critical error
The message "There has been a critical error on this website" blocks the website and sometimes the admin area too. We read the log, find the file or plugin responsible and fix it or replace it.
-
It stopped working after an update
An update to WordPress, the theme or a plugin broke the layout, a form or the checkout. We check what changed, fix the incompatibility or roll back to the previous version while we sort out the rest.
-
Slow WordPress website
Pages that take too many seconds to load. The usual causes are weak hosting, too many plugins, heavy images, a bloated database, no cache. We measure, remove the dead weight and configure the cache. The method is explained below.
-
Hacked website or strange redirects
The website sends visitors to pages you do not recognize, spam links appear or Google flags it as dangerous. We clean the infected files, close the hole and change the credentials. You will find the steps in the guide on what to do if your website is hacked.
-
Contact form emails are not arriving
The form says "sent" but you receive nothing. It happens when the hosting blocks direct sending or the sender is not authenticated (SPF and DKIM). We set up sending via SMTP and test the form until the message arrives.
-
Conflicting plugins
Two plugins do the same thing, or one breaks the other. We deactivate them one at a time until we find the culprit, then decide whether to fix it, replace it or write a small custom function. When the function grows into a program of its own, it becomes custom software development.
-
PHP version to upgrade
The hosting warns that PHP is outdated, or a plugin requires a newer version. We check theme and plugin compatibility, switch versions and test the main pages.
-
Backups that do not exist or cannot be restored
A backup is only useful if it can be restored. We set up automatic copies of files and database, keep them off the same server and test a restore.
-
Hosting migration
We move the website to new hosting without losing pages, users or rankings. We copy files and database, run tests on the new server, then switch the domain over.
If your problem concerns an online store running on WooCommerce or PrestaShop, the right page is the one on WooCommerce and PrestaShop support for online stores.
Slow website
Speeding up a WordPress website,
where to start
A slow WordPress website loses visitors before they even read anything. Installing a cache plugin on top of a bloated website moves the problem, it does not solve it. This is the right order.
1. Measure
We look at how long the server takes to respond and how much each page weighs, on the pages that really matter, such as home, categories, product pages and contact form.
2. Hosting and PHP
If the server is slow to respond, no optimization is enough. We check hosting resources and PHP version, and if needed we suggest a change.
3. Plugins and theme
We look for plugins that send too many database queries or load scripts on every page. On VenditaVernici.it one plugin generated 5,539 identical queries per page, and replacing it changed the website more than any cache.
4. Images, database and cache
Images in the right format and size, a database cleaned of old data, and a cache configured to exclude pages that must stay personal, such as the cart and customer area.

Hour package work
You buy a block of hours and we use it to fix the problem and make the changes you need. The more hours you buy, the lower the hourly cost. It is the right option for an error, a slow website, a website to clean up, a hosting migration or an update that has to be done safely. If the job needs more hours than expected, we tell you before using them.
Monthly plan
The plan is for those who do not want to discover a problem only when a customer reports it. It includes updates, backups and fixing anything that stops working, and for WooCommerce stores checks on orders, payment gateways and products. What each option includes is on the page about WordPress website maintenance.
The hour package and the plan can be combined, with routine maintenance in the plan and extra work in packages. On request, payment can be split into installments with no interest.

How it works
How a support job
unfolds, step by step
1. You describe the problem
You write or call us. You tell us what you see, since when it has been happening and what has been changed recently. During business hours, Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 7 PM, we start the analysis within the hour.
2. We make it safe
Before touching anything we take a copy of files and database. If the website is down, we work on a copy so we do not make things worse.
3. We find the cause
We read the logs, deactivate suspect components one at a time and check the versions of PHP, WordPress, theme and plugins. We do not stop at the symptom.
4. We fix and test
We apply the fix, then test the pages that matter, meaning home, forms, private area and checkout if there is one. If more work is needed than expected, we tell you before using more hours.
5. We explain what happened
We close the job with a written explanation of the cause and of what we did, with advice on how to avoid the problem happening again.
At the end of the job
What you get
when the work is done
A website that works again, tested on its main pages. A written explanation of what broke and what we changed. A backup taken before we touched the website. Advice on what is worth fixing to stop it happening again, with no obligation to do it with us.
To get started
What we need
from you
Administrator access to the website and the hosting or FTP details. A description of what is happening, with a screenshot of the error. The latest backup, if there is one. If you do not have the login details, we help you recover them from your hosting provider.
WordPress websites
WordPress websites
we have built
We know WordPress websites well because we have been building them for years. Two examples of websites with a product catalog, designed so the client can update them independently.
- Rossini Guarnizioni, a WordPress website with a vast catalog of seals and industrial technical items.
- Fronteretro, a WordPress website with a product catalog managed entirely from the dashboard.
If you need a new website instead, you will find timelines and prices on the page about website development. If you are not sure, write to us from the contact page and we will tell you whether it is better to fix what you have or rebuild it.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
about WordPress support
Why is my WordPress website not working?
In most cases because an update to WordPress, the theme or a plugin created an incompatibility, because of a conflict between plugins, a hosting limit or an unsuitable PHP version. Less often the website has been hacked. Before you write to us, check whether the problem is on every page or just one and whether it appeared after a change, and take a screenshot of the error, so the analysis can start right away.
How do I fix the WordPress critical error?
Do not reinstall WordPress and do not delete plugins at random. The message sometimes asks you to check the administrator's email inbox, where WordPress sends instructions for getting back into the dashboard. The real cause is written in the server error log, and that is where we start to find the plugin, theme or file that is blocking the website.
My WordPress website is slow, what should I do?
First you measure where time is being lost, then you work in order on hosting and PHP version, plugins and theme, images, database and cache. Removing a plugin that sends too many database queries often matters more than any cache setting. On VenditaVernici.it a single plugin generated 5,539 identical queries per page.
Is WordPress reliable?
Yes, if it is kept updated and uses a few well-chosen plugins. The official WordPress security guide explains that breaches rarely depend on the infrastructure and more often on the application, and among the most common attacks it lists outdated plugins and software and attempts to guess passwords. These are all things you keep under control with website maintenance.
How much does WordPress support cost?
Work is billed in hour packages, 5 hours for €350, 10 hours for €600, 20 hours for €1,100. We estimate the hours after seeing the problem, before we start. If you want the website looked after every month, there is the maintenance plan, €190 per month for WordPress and €290 per month for WooCommerce.
How quickly do you step in?
During business hours, Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 7 PM, we start the analysis within the hour. For emergencies, such as a website that is down or hacked, we are on call from 7 AM to 11 PM, holidays included.
Do you work on WordPress websites you did not build?
Yes, most of our jobs are on websites built by others. We need the login details and a description of the problem. There is no obligation to rebuild the website, we start from what you have and put it right.
My WordPress website has been hacked, what should I do?
Do not delete files at random and do not rush to change hosting, because you would lose the traces that show how they got in. Write to us or call us, and in the meantime save a copy of the current state. The guide on hacked websites walks you through the steps to follow.
